From the moment we arrived, the cozy, beautifully designed space welcomed us with warmth and tranquility. The bathtub was a dream.. perfect for unwinding and soaking in the peaceful mountain vibes. Fabian was incredibly responsive, answering all my messages quickly, while Toño was always nearby with firewood and anything else we needed, making our stay effortless and comfortable. This cabin offered the perfect sanctuary to disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with each other in a way that felt long overdue. I can’t recommend this magical spot enough for anyone looking to celebrate, recharge, and experience true serenity in Oaxaca’s stunning nature. A five star experience all around!”

“While many might flock to San Jose del Pacifico, the true gem of the region is San Mateo Rio Hondo — a mountain Pueblo so alive but so peaceful, so authentic but also so accessible. Fabian’s gorgeous tiny house was the perfect haven from which to explore this utterly unique and precious place — comfortable, walkable, private, peaceful. So grateful to have found it, so grateful for the three days I spent with the legends of San Mateo. Looking forward to the next time I can come through this mountain Pueblo, and until then, it warms my heart just knowing it’s out there, living life slower, with more devotion.”

“I wish we could have stayed at Fabian’s place for longer than a weekend. The Studio King is so thoughtfully built, with details that make it a really comfortable stay—like a light above the bed, a toilet and sink in the loft area as well as downstairs, a night stand, and light switches that control all lights upstairs and downstairs. Fabian shared a lot of really helpful info about transportation, where to eat, and what to do via Whatsapp. And Antonio, one of the neighbors, greeted us upon arrival to let us know he can help with anything we may need. The place is as gorgeous as it looks in photos. We thought we may want to stay a little more “off grid” at first, but Fabian’s place was really the perfect blend of easily accessible but still in the peaceful outskirts of town. Just keep in mind that there are dogs nearby. Bring earplugs if you’re sensitive to some barking.”

Fabian, who speaks English, is a very charming host. He communicated with us in a pleasant and fair manner. He even helped us deal with and solve a personal problem that arose. “This tiny house is a gem. Crafted with attention to detail, it has the perfect amount of space for 2 people to relax in the mountains. The kitchen is equipped with just enough dishes and cooking utensils. The deck is a great extension of the space with beautiful views of the town and mountains. It’s nice to stay somewhere where you are not sharing walls with anyone. The loft bed is plenty spacious and the house was very clean when we arrived. It should also be noted that the owner is very kind and willing to give advice, and help in any way. His hospitality is impeccable. I am looking forward returning to San Mateo and staying here again.”

“Fabians place is truly the best in San Mateo. The overall quality is very high, yet it are the small things surprises through which he expresses the ultimate care. Youll feel sheltered and nurtured here, in this quiet part of San Mateo, close to a couple of excellent eateries and beautiful hiking possibilities. Absolutely recommend it, all the four places are lovely and each have their own charm. Fabian is a great and responsive host as well!”
